Description of the company

The Flughafen Wien Group consists of three international airports in Austria (Vienna), Malta and Slovakia (Košice1) as well as the airfield Bad Vöslau. Vienna Airport also acts as an important hub for destinations in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. As one of the largest employers in Eastern Austria, it is an important growth and economic factor for Austria. Malta Airport has a 65-year concession (starting in July 2002) and has recently seen tremendous passenger growth. Košice Airport is the second largest Slovakian airport and has recorded steady growth in passenger numbers in recent years despite the difficult conditions. The airfield Bad Vöslau has local significance and serves mainly private planes. The Flughafen Wien Group has an annual average of 4,624 employees (FTE, full-time equivalent) and 5,772 persons (headcount) with its fully consolidated subsidiaries. Including participations City Air Terminal Betriebsgesellschaft m.b.H. (at-equity), "GetService" -airport security and service GmbH (at-equity), Letisko Košice - Airport Košice, a.s. (at-equity) and GetService Dienstleistungsgesellschaft m.b.H. even employ an average of 5,106 people (FTE). The companies handled 30.9 million passengers in the past year.

business

The business activities of the Flughafen Wien Group are divided into five segments: Airport, Handling & Security Services, Retail & Properties, Malta and Other Segments.

Segment Airport

The Airport Segment is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all movement areas of the terminal, all facilities and facilities for passenger and baggage handling as well as for the security checks of persons and hand luggage at Vienna Airport. Another area of responsibility is the acquisition of new airlines in point-to-point traffic as well as in transfer traffic and the associated expansion of the destination offer as well as the increase of flight frequencies. An attractive fee and incentive arrangement for the airlines supports this effort.

Segment Handling & Security Services

As a ground and cargo handling agent, the Handling & Security Services segment provides services at Vienna International Airport for the handling of aircraft and passengers in scheduled, charter and general aviation traffic. In addition to ramp, cargo and passenger handling, this segment also includes the provision of security services, such as checks on persons and hand luggage, as well as general aviation, which includes civil aviation flights, with the exception of scheduled and charter services. It includes both private and commercial flights, such as demand airlines, private individuals, corporate jets or rescue airlines. The Handling segment responds to the trends in the aviation industry and the continuing price pressure and responds to the needs of airlines, such as the desire for shorter ground times or reduced service packages. By guaranteeing short transfer times, high punctuality and tailor-made offers, the Ground Handling division is able to hold its own against the competition.

Retail & Properties segment

Passengers, park customers, hotel guests, conference participants, employees and collectors as "Meeters & Greeters" are important target groups in the Retail & Properties segment. Significant earnings contributions are made by shopping and gastronomy as well as advertising revenues, parking and the rental of office and cargo space.

Malta segment

In addition to Malta Airport (Malta International Airport plc, MIA), the Malta segment also includes its directly held interests (MIA Group). Malta Airport and its holdings are responsible for the operation of Malta Airport. In addition to the classic aviation services, the companies of the MIAG Group also generate revenues in the area of parking and the leasing of retail and office space. The handling is carried out by two external companies.
