Description of the company

1&1 Drillisch is a German telecommunications company that offers mobile and fixed-line services, as well as internet and TV services. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Maintal, Germany. In 2017, United Internet, which owns 1&1, acquired Drillisch AG and renamed it 1&1 Drillisch AG.

1&1 Drillisch operates under several brands, including 1&1, yourfone, smartmobil, and winSIM. The company uses the networks of the major German mobile network operators (Telekom, Vodafone, and Telefonica) to provide its services.

As of 2021, 1&1 Drillisch is planning to build its own 5G network in Germany, which would make it the fourth major mobile network operator in the country. This move is expected to increase competition in the German telecom market and provide consumers with more choices for mobile services.
