Sterling Construction Company, Inc. (Sterling) is a heavy civil construction company that specializes in the building, reconstruction and repair of transportation and water infrastructure. Transportation infrastructure projects include highways, roads, bridges, light rail and commuter rail. Water infrastructure projects include water, wastewater and storm drainage systems. It provides general contracting services, including excavating, concrete and asphalt paving, installation of large-diameter water and wastewater distribution systems, construction of bridges and similar structures, construction of light and commuter rail infrastructure, concrete and asphalt batch plant operations, concrete crushing and aggregates operations. Sterling operates in Texas, Utah, Arizona, California and Nevada. It also has highway construction contracts in Hawaii, Idaho, Montana and Louisiana. During the year ended December 31, 2011, it also had bid on construction projects in California and Oklahoma.
